Mountain West Periodontal Associates

Have a periodontics-related question? Mountain West Periodontal Associates has the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Will the exam performed by Mountain West Periodontal Associates be painful?

Rest assured that we will be as gentle as possible. The periodontal exam will be completed with little or no discomfort to you.

  • Do I need X-rays before you treat me?

At Mountain West Periodontal Associates, we will need current periodontal X-rays to be able to see disease not otherwise visible. If your referring dentist has taken X-rays, please have them forwarded to us.

  • What will treatment cost at Mountain West Periodontal Associates?

Because each case is different, we must perform the exam before coming up with a treatment plan (and the associated costs).

Fees vary depending on the problem as well as the length and complexity of treatment. We can provide an approximate fee at the initial visit; however, treatment or more diagnostics may be completed before a final plan and costs are established. We treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.

  • Will my insurance cover the cost of services performed by Mountain West Periodontal Associates?

Many dental insurance policies cover periodontal care. Bring all dental benefit information and cards to your appointment. Upon request, we’ll submit a claim to predetermine your insurance benefits. This isn’t required by most plans.

  • Will I need surgery at Mountain West Periodontal Associates?

Not everyone needs periodontal surgery to address their condition. If treated early, gum disease can be controlled without the need for surgery. We’ll make recommendations according to your situation. We treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.

  • Can Mountain West Periodontal Associates save my teeth?

We’ve found that the recent advances in periodontal treatment allow us to successfully treat most teeth.

  • When will Mountain West Periodontal Associates release me so I may go back to the general dentist?

Regular visits to your dentist are an important part of periodontal maintenance. Rest assured that our office and your dentist will work closely together. If crowns and fillings are required, your dentist will provide them.

  • What if I don’t have gum treatment at Mountain West Periodontal Associates?

Be aware that periodontal disease is a progressive, painless infection. Delaying treatment can lead to further bone loss and more expenses. If your teeth are lost, know that dentures are never as effective as your natural teeth.
